Welcome! I handcraft each box myself using fine hardwoods from around the world including my favorite, spalted Alaskan birch.  Since many beautiful tree species are endangered, I use wood that is certified or responsibly harvested.

I have made Alaska my home since 1975.  My wife, Gina Soltis, and I live in a home we built ourselves on an eighty acre homestead near Healy, Alaska just outside the northern boundary of Denali National Park.
 
In 1996 I retired from a 20 year career with the Alaska State Troopers and turned my love of working with wood into a business.  April through October Gina and I work full time in woodcraft production and participating in craft shows thoughout Alaska.  In the winter we travel the Lower 48 in our RV, seeking warmth and at times selling our creations at fine craft and art shows.

The boxes in the slide show are just a sample of Ray's work.  If you are interested in a particular type of box, for example a jewelry box, we can email pictures to you of the boxes we are currently offering.  Look for an expansion in the future.

    We are doing a lot less art and craft shows this year.     Good news for our Cutting Board fans!
    Ray has created some large cutting boards that neatly fit into the USPS medium flat rate mailers. We can fit up to four boards and mail for the flat rate of $11.35 (2012 rate).

    Every board has a different pattern and mix of woods - all hard wood that hold up great over the years. The exact size and shape will also vary a bit, but they are all about 13.75" by 10" for $55.

    Of course the smaller boards will easily fit. They are $35 are about 10" x 6" and two of these take the space of one large board in a box.

    These make great gifts for the holidays and birthdays, and are especially nice wedding gifts.
